We have a health care contract!

August 25, 2017—Michigan State University’s administration has ratified a four-year tentative agreement on health care with the seven MSU unions that voted in favor of the agreement:

  • Clerical-Technical Union of MSU
  • Administrative Professional Supervisors Association
  • Police Unit (Capitol City Labor Program, Inc.)
  • International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 324
  • Administrative Professionals Association
  • International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Local 274
  • AFSCME Local 1585

The university will now move forward on preparing educational materials for health care open enrollment, which takes place throughout the month of October.

Eight unions are covered under the current health care contract with the university.  One of the eight voted against ratification.

Seven of eight unions have ratified the health care Memorandum of Understanding:

One union voted against ratification. Updates will be posted when we have them.

Tonight, I am quite pleased to announce that CTU passed the tentative health care agreement, 337 yes votes to 5 no votes!

A big thank you to all who took the time to vote and to all who worked this ratification including our bargaining team and office staff!
